This article has nothing to do with DID or trauma. Instead, it is about something that we must discuss as a society, measles.

There has been a recent outbreak of measles in the United States. Earlier this month the state of Washington’s Governor declared a state of emergency because so many children have been sickened there.

The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) has posted an ominous page warning people to be on the lookout for measles in their children and themselves.

The reason for this latest threat to the lives of our children is that so many kids have not received a vaccination to prevent them from getting and passing the disease on to others.

I wrote the following piece before the declaration of emergency in Washington and decided to republish it here to warn you. As you will see, measles isn’t just a harmless virus that kids contract. It can leave kids blind, or even kill them.
